Building our Strategic Plan
The AUS School Community will begin its Strategic Planning initiative this fall at the School Advisory Board’s first meeting of the school year. Strategic planning is an organizational management activity that is used to set priorities, focus energy and resources, strengthen operations, ensure that educators, employees and other stakeholders are working toward common goals, establish agreement around intended outcomes/results, and assess and adjust AUS’s direction in response to a changing environment. Effective strategic planning articulates not only where our school is going and the actions needed to make progress, but also how we will know if it is successful.
As a new school in Kuwait, this is the perfect time for AUS to begin the Strategic Planning Process. The importance of coming together with those in the community who will be affected by the educational opportunities we provide is key to the development of our plan. It is our aim to have the opinions of as many of our parents, students, educators and other employees in putting everyone on the same page to increase the chances that our efforts will be successful.
The Strategic Planning Process will include review/and or development of the AUS:
Mission and Vision Statements
Create Viable Objectives
Behavioral, Community level-outcome, Process
Develop Action Plan with Action Steps
Once we have completed designing the strategic plan for AUS, we will begin the REAL work. This action plan will need to be tried and tested and revised, then tried and tested and revised again. This process will require obtaining feedback from community members, and add and subtract elements of our plan based on these comments.
We look forward to the entire AUS School Community assisting us to define the dream/s that shape our school, set measureable goals, define ways to meet those goals, and finally, develop practical ways to bring about needed changes that benefit the students we serve. Check the school website for upcoming School Advisory Board announcements so you can be involved as we move forward in implementing an exemplary educational program for students.
