Charisse Bruce
English Teacher
Degree(s): Master of Science in Education: St. John's University, Queens, New York, USA. Bachelor of Arts in English: Johnson C. Smith University, Charlotte North Carolina, USA
Hometown: Brooklyn, New York U.S.A
Background: Hello, my name is Charisse Bruce. I began my teaching career in Brooklyn, New York, USA and I have experience teaching both middle and high school grades. I consider myself a citizen of the world due to my love for traveling and appreciation for other cultures. Throughout my life and career, I have understood that children are capable of anything if you are pouring into them. Kahlil Gibran is one of my favorite poets of all time. He expressed his views on learning which align with my philosophy of teaching: “the teacher who is indeed wise does not bid you to enter the house of his wisdom but rather leads you to the threshold of your own mind.” As an educator, it is necessary for me to ignite a child’s yearn to learn and to seek knowledge continuously. I am more than thrilled to begin my journey at American United School of Kuwait and welcome new challenges as I can continue to grow as an educator.
