Degree(s): Bachelor of Education majoring in English and History
Hometown: Red Lake, Ontario, Canada
Background: Teaching for me is more than just a career, it is an opportunity to partake in the growth and development of our future leaders, teachers, and critical thinkers. Over the past 14 years, I have taught both primary and middle school within all 3 systems: public, private and semi-private.
I am excited and fortunate to be given the opportunity to apply my experiences from each system, my lifelong learnings and my expertise within the classroom at AUS.
In my free time, I enjoy watching my 3 children play sports. Whether it is hockey or baseball, I am there cheering them on!
Degree(s): Master of Science in Education: St. John's University, Queens, New York, USA. Bachelor of Arts in English: Johnson C. Smith University, Charlotte North Carolina, USA
Hometown: Brooklyn, New York U.S.A
Background: Hello, my name is Charisse Bruce. I began my teaching career in Brooklyn, New York, USA and I have experience teaching both middle and high school grades. I consider myself a citizen of the world due to my love for traveling and appreciation for other cultures. Throughout my life and career, I have understood that children are capable of anything if you are pouring into them. Kahlil Gibran is one of my favorite poets of all time. He expressed his views on learning which align with my philosophy of teaching: “the teacher who is indeed wise does not bid you to enter the house of his wisdom but rather leads you to the threshold of your own mind.” As an educator, it is necessary for me to ignite a child’s yearn to learn and to seek knowledge continuously. I am more than thrilled to begin my journey at American United School of Kuwait and welcome new challenges as I can continue to grow as an educator.
Degree(s): Bachelor of Arts Communication The University of Texas San Antonio; Fourth-Eighth grade generalist and ESL

Within my classroom I foster an environment of collaboration and embrace that the learning process is unique to the individual. We can all contribute to the learning and teaching that takes place in our room. My focus is never on perfection (or getting it right the first time) but instead on growth and the effort put forth in seeking answers.
