In addition to being an educator, I am an award winning entrepreneur who created history with my innovative idea, inspired by my daughter Billie-Rae, of designing the world’s first talking Jamaican doll, which achieved global viral recognition where the doll was featured on BBC, Aljazeera Plus and several other mainstream media.
For me, teaching is not just a job but a passion that revolves around everything I do where I facilitate learning through motivation and innovation and I stand firmly with my philosophy that every child can learn and every child should learn. During my free time, I enjoy travelling, meeting people and learning about new cultures with my daughter.

Ryan Dreyer
Math Teacher
Degree(s): Master of Chemistry, Postgraduate Certificate in Education with Mathematics, Loughborough University, England.
Hometown: Market Harborough, Leicestershire, England.
Background: I was born in Pretoria, South Africa, but moved to England for secondary school and university. I know firsthand what it’s like to be an international student. My wife and I met at university and have been happily married since. We spent early married life backpacking to experience new cultures, meet people from all walks of life and search for our place in the world, feel free to ask about the places we have been; I may have visited your home country. Our journey brought us to Kuwait, which is now home, where our two wonderful young boys were born and where we have found a school community that truly feels like family.
Previously, I taught iGCSE mathematics in the British curriculum but now enjoy teaching mathematics in the American system at AUS. I see math as an international language, numbers are the same everywhere… though I’ve had to get used to saying “math” instead of “maths”! It is a privilege to work in this supportive environment where students and staff are cared for holistically and grow, achieve, and celebrate together.
Outside the classroom, I enjoy cricket, golf, tennis, and volleyball, and I am always up for a game of chess (just be warned, my favorite opening is the dangerous Hippopotamus Defense… though now that I have let that slip, you might just stand a chance).
My philosophy of education is the 3 R’s: be Ready to learn, Respectful to others, and Responsible for yourself.
