Advanced Placement

What is Advanced Placement 'AP'?

Advance Placement (AP) gives students the opportunity to experience the rigor of a college course while they are still in high school. The benefits of taking an AP class are: being academically challenged, the chance to earn college credit, being more competitive for college admissions, and a chance to develop independence as a student with more varieties of subjects to explore.  Our AP courses are some of the most challenging courses that we offer at AUS, and we’re proud to have nearly 300 students sign up for these courses every school year.

Global recognition

The AP curriculum is considered the standard for academic excellence in the United States and is increasingly recognized as a quality university entrance qualification in Europe and the rest of the world. In addition AP courses offered at AUS are fully recognized in the United States and Canada, where approximately 3,000 colleges and universities take part in the program. The vast majority of universities that receive AP grades grant credit or advanced placement for successful examination results.
