Meet our Assistant Principal

Ashley Jackson

Learning is a journey of discovery and growth to find the path that works best for each individual. I am grateful to be part of the learning community here at AUS as the Elementary School Assistant Principal. I believe in nurturing the needs of the whole child socially, emotionally and academically in order to help them find their pathway to success.

It is essential to create a comfortable, collaborative and supportive environment that allows each student their space to shine. A school is a community and by working together we each play an integral part in enhancing the experience of our students to prepare them to grow into confident, resilient adults. As a leader I am responsible for building an environment that supports learning in a fun and engaging way. It is my responsibility to foster a dynamic environment that provides each and every student the opportunity to connect with themselves while becoming the best version of who they want to be today and in the future.

I have had the delightful opportunity to work in education at various levels and love to embrace each stage that a child grows through. I began my educational journey in the United States and from there went on to become an international educator working in Thailand and Honduras supporting students at the Elementary level. In addition to my classroom teaching I bring with me my leadership experience as a Curriculum Coordinator, Literacy Coach, Head of Elementary English, Head of ELL and Faculty Wellness coordinator.

I am originally from Portland, Oregon and love the outdoors in the Pacific Northwest. I enjoy being here at AUS with my husband Wilmer, Real Madrid coach and our children Emma and Jack. Together we love to travel the world and explore. You will always find us being active in sports and in the kitchen cooking up something special. I am excited about this school year and all that it will bring.
