Meet our Assistant Principal

Ashley Jackson

Learning is a journey of discovery and growth to find the path that works best for each individual. This year I am grateful to have the opportunity to join the learning community at AUS as the Elementary School Assistant Principal. This is my first year with AUS and I am thrilled to bring my passion and excitement of learning to the school. I believe in nurturing the needs of the whole child socially, emotionally and academically in order to help them find their pathway to success.
I believe in creating a comfortable, collaborative and supportive environment that allows each student their space to shine. A school is a community and by working together we each play a part in enhancing the experience of our students to prepare them to grow into confident, reliant adults. As a leader I am responsible for building an environment that supports learning in a fun and engaging way. It is my responsibility to foster a dynamic environment that provides each and every student the opportunity to connect with themselves while becoming the best version of who they want to be today and in the future.

I have had the delightful opportunity to work in education for the past ten years at various levels and love to embrace each stage that a child grows through. I began my educational journey in the United States and from there went on to become an international educator working in Thailand and Honduras supporting students at the Elementary level. In addition to my classroom teaching I bring with me my leadership experience as a Curriculum Coordinator, Literacy Coach, Head of Elementary English, and Faculty Wellness coordinator.
I am originally from Portland, Oregon. I joined AUS this year with my husband Wilmer, Real Madrid soccer coach and our children Emma and Jack. Together we love to travel the world and explore. You will always find us being active in sports and in the kitchen cooking up something special. I am excited about this year and all that it will bring.
