Information Center

The AUS Elementary Information Center (IC) is a two-story space where Pre-K through Fifth Grade students are invited to read, inquire, and share. We provide print books and online resources, including eBooks, videos, audio books, and research databases to students. Our collection is always growing, and currently houses over 16,000 items. Our ever-increasing Arabic collection supports Arabic literacy with both fiction and nonfiction selections.

Use Library Materials from Home

Access our Online Catalog to browse the collection, read eBooks, or use the search features to conduct research. Additionally, AUS subscribes to Britannica Online. This research database contains a wealth of information, and can be accessed from home to assist students with homework, or personal research projects.

Our Program

While visiting the Information Center each week, students hone the skills necessary to become adept twenty-first century thinkers. Through projects planned in collaboration with classroom teachers, students learn to effectively access, assess, utilize, and share information from a variety of sources—both print and digital. In addition, students engage in literacy-based activities designed to promote a lifelong love of reading. During their time in the IC, students are encouraged to browse the shelves and check out new reading material each week. There is something magical about curling up with a good book, and we are excited to assist students as they search for their next favorite selection.

The Information Center is open Sunday through Thursday from 7:00am to 3:30pm. Students are welcome to stop by, checkout new materials, read together, or simply enjoy the cozy space. Students may keep materials for two weeks before renewing or returning them to the IC. Students are permitted three books at a time.
