Meet our Principal
Ms. Brenda Clements, M.Ed
Middle School Principal
DREAM, SHARE, PLAN, IMPLEMENT, EVALUATE
I DREAM of the possibilities in education, SHARE through collaboration with others on ways to fulfil those dreams, develop and implement the PLAN, and then EVALUATE the results.
I believe a dream is nothing more than empty promises if there is no sharing, planning, nor implementation.
Let’s dream, share, plan, implement, and evaluate together to ensure the success of ALL students.
My experience in education has covered a vast number of positions in the public and private educational realm. These experiences include an elementary Principal (interim), Dean of Academics of an all-male middle school, Summer Academy Principal of elementary and middle school students, Leadership Support Specialist of six (6) elementary schools, Model Teacher Leader (district level support), Instructional Liaison, Mathematics Coach, middle school math, science, and history teacher, elementary multi-subject teacher, and Summer enrichment teacher for Reach for Excellence organization. No matter the title I’ve been called, my sole purpose has been to either personally provide or be the conduit for others to provide students with the best educational experiences. My focus, student success, has never swayed.
As a life-long learner, I am currently working on my dissertation within the Curriculum Studies program at Georgia Southern University. I have advanced and undergraduate degrees from Georgia State University in Middle Grades Education with emphasis in Mathematics, and another undergraduate degree from Georgia Perimeter College formerly known as DeKalb Community College in Business Education.
I promise to utilize the knowledge, experience, and skills I’ve acquired over the 19 years I’ve been involved in the field education:
- to provide the very best educational experiences for students that I serve,
- to train and support staff members in reaching their potential to be the most effective support for students, and
- to effectively and consistently communicate and collaborate with families and the community.
I’m excited to see our students grow as they tackle the challenges of middle school at the AUS.
