Meet our Principal
Building the capacity of students and teachers to persevere and overcome any obstacle in the classroom and throughout life.
I am both excited and grateful for the opportunity to serve as the Elementary Principal at AUS. Some notable attributes that have played a huge role in my expeditious journey to school leadership consists of the abilities to produce high results while working collaboratively in a team environment, a strong understanding of research-based best practices that relate to effective classroom instruction and curriculum implementation from early childhood education through upper elementary grade level, and an innovative approach of using my transformational leadership style to build relationships and capacity with all individuals involved in the school community.
Since joining AUS in 2017, I have had the pleasure to work as an Instructional Coach and Assistant Principal for the elementary department. Being a part of such a diverse staff and student population has given me the opportunity to learn and engage with some of the most talented and intellectually gifted students, educators, and administrators.
In my previous experience, I taught as an upper elementary teacher for the Dallas Independent School District. I also served as a Vice Principal at Trinity Basin Preparatory School in Dallas, Texas.
I am originally from Kaufman, Texas. My wife, Deshia, also teaches at AUS as a Pre-K teacher. We have one son named Aiden. In my free time, I like to travel and immerse myself in different cultures, watch sports, and try new cuisines from all over the world. I look forward to leading and expanding my knowledge in this position.
