Counseling Department
As students prepare for the return to in-person learning, the Counseling Department will prioritize efforts to address social and emotional learning and mental and behavioral needs. Although we understand that addressing skill gaps remains a vital necessity, students will not be ready to engage in learning if they do not feel psychologically and physically safe. As such, school counselors will be monitoring student’s school adjustment upon re-entry and over the course of several weeks. Some students may adjust within weeks, while others may take longer, depending on the unique experiences and/or vulnerabilities of the individual.
That said, AUS Counselors have put plans in place to provide student services through guidance lessons, advisory, college/career counseling, and general counseling support. We can also refer students to community-based counseling for more intensive support if needed.
Please contact your respective school counselor/psychologist if you need any assistance. We are available through email, phone, and live virtual discussion if necessary. Furthermore, below we have compiled videos, articles, and infographics from reputable sources for your viewing. We look forward to hearing from you and want to help in any way we can.
